The White Heart Bar & Brasserie is a friendly, modern and contemporary restaurant situated in Penistone, South Yorkshire. Owned and run by Gillian and Chris Ward, the restaurant offers a warm and cosy atmosphere with a delightful eating area, a mezzanine level and a recently opened function room. The restaurant lighting adds to the stylish atmosphere to give this old historical building a certain ‘wow’ factor, a perfect combination of chic and warmth that is both welcoming and relaxing.

The White Heart Restaurant has received many excellent reviews and chef, Paul Taylor, comes to the White Heart with a well-established reputation and a host of ideas. He is a young man with an already great culinary pedigree, has created a small, but excellent menu, using carefully selected locally-sourced, seasonal produce. All meat is bought from local Hade Edge butcher Brindon Addy and seasonal produce combine to create a delicious menu. The White Heart hosts music nights every friday and saturday evenings and special event nights throughout the year. Previous events have included wine pairing nights, Champagne nights, Tribute bands, Burns night and many more.

Unique Features

The White Heart Bar & Brasserie offers a superb selection of menus to suit all tastes and appetites. The Light Bites Menu offers a choice of tasty nibbles, snacks, sandwiches and light lunches. The Evening menu a la Carte offers a good selection of dishes and may include starters such as: Freshly made parfait of chicken liver, served with buttery brioche and onion jam, Peking style duck with soft noodles and stir fried vegetables or Wood Pigeon. Roasted wood pigeon, served with crispy lardons and fresh beetroot. Main dishes can include such delights as: Pan fried sea bass, served with confit of baby leeks, cauliflower puree and scallops, Grouse. Roasted grouse, served with baby carrots, turnips, lardons and sauted new potatoes or maybe Fillet steak -The most tender of all cuts. Served with four fat chips, roasted vine tomatoes and a choice of green pepper sauce, chestnut mushroom sauce or Stilton crust. Choose from an excellent selection of home made desserts such as Treacle Tart, Eton Mess or a selection of farmhouse cheeses.

The White Heart Bar & Brasserie offer a luxurious and spacious one bedroom self catering apartment which is based on the first floor level of the building. The apartment is stylishly decorated with modern furnishings and fully carpeted with curtains. The lounge room includes a double sofa and chair, coffee table, TV, lamp and a wooden trundle bed. The fully fitted and equipped modern kitchen includes a fridge, oven with hob, sink, kettle, toaster and iron. The large bedroom includes a double bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe witha full length mirror, dressing table with a mirror on the wall and also a hairdryer. The fully fitted bathroom includes a bath with shower and towels. There is also the new Cavendish Suite which is primarily used as the bridal suite, but can be booked independently, and is finished to the most luxurious standard.
